Tom Amos, Director

Mr. Tom Amos is a Director at Saoradh working on various internal projects and was previously on loan to Saoradh portfolio company Ward Alternative Energy as its director of finance.

Prior to his time at Saoradh, he worked with Duke Energy Corporation (DUK: NYSE). In his capacity as Enterprise Risk Manager at Duke, he led annual enterprise risk assessments with final deliverables to the CEO and Board of Directors, requiring interviews with the top 50 officers in the company and identification, quantification, and mitigation analysis for the top risks to the company. He helped design and implement a company-wide strategy for enhanced enterprise risk management, which included improved board and senior management communication, on-going risk monitoring processes, standardized business unit level risk assessments, strategic integration, improved guidelines for major transaction analysis for projects over $100M and training and tools for employees. He led ad hoc risk assessments for senior management, including a $1,000M purchase of an interest in a regional nuclear power plant, and a $500M litigation settlement negotiation.

In his capacity as Analytics Manager for Duke Energy Corporation, he designed, built, and implemented the accounting models, processes, and systems to book monthly revenues of energy efficiency portfolios and track performance across five jurisdictions with annual revenues of over $200M each. He also performed financial analysis of new product offerings within the energy efficient product portfolio, a behavioral home energy comparison report that was launched and targeted over half a million customers.

Prior to his work at Duke, he worked for Trammell Crow Company with a focus on their client ExxonMobil. His work primarily included traditional fuels station investment analysis, station portfolio optimization, and lease accounting.

In 2008, he received his M.B.A. with Emphasis in Finance from Duke University. He received his B.S.B.A. from The College of William & Mary in 2003.
